The most recognizable element of Christmas (other than Santa) are Christmas trees. Today we will talk about not just any tree but a flocked Christmas tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this blog post, we will look at flocked Christmas trees and pre-lit Christmas trees. We will talk about what defines a flocked, where to find them and how to DIY them. By the end of this, you will be ready to get your tree prepared as your festive centerpiece this holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a Christmas tree that has a warm white and snow-covered appearance. When trees are flocked, the branches appear to have freshly fallen snow in them. Flocking a tree could drastically change its appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A flocked tree gives a brand new look to an old-fashioned Christmas one because it makes it look like it belongs in a winter wonderland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most flocked Christmas trees are artificial but you could flock real trees too. People like to use this technique on fake trees because you do not have to reinvent the look every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some flocked trees from the store are used for years and years. They even last a long time if you flocked the tree yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trees are not the only thing that could be flocked. There are also wreaths, garlands, pine cones, ornaments and so much more. You could turn your living room into a wintery mixture of Christmas cheer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where to find a flocked Christmas tree?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You could find flocked artificial Christmas trees in pretty much anywhere you find fake Christmas trees. The most popular styles are the mostly white Christmas trees with white lights attached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Popular places to look for them are online on Amazon or at local stores like Macy’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most popular brands for these trees are Fraser Hill Farm<\/a> and the National Tree Company<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to DIY a flocked Christmas Tree?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to flock your own tree, you will need some mandatory materials to make it happen. Materials you will need are snow flocking powder<\/a> and obviously a real or artificial Christmas tree, strainer,<\/a> and a spray bottle full of water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on the size of the tree will determine how much of the flocking powder you will need. For example, you’ll need less powder for a tabletop tree and you may need an entire box of powder for a 9 ft. flocked Christmas tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are flocking a large tree, you’d want to spray it in a large open area like outside in your backyard or in a basement. You may need a drop cloth to avoid a mess if you are doing it indoors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spray the tree with water then pour the flocking powder into the strainer and sprinkle it over the tree. Distribute powder evenly throughout the tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After you are done with the first layer of powder. Repeat each step (starting with spraying with water) for a fuller look. Let the tree dry completely before you move it. You should let it sit overnight before you decorate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other ways to flock your Christmas tree<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a cheaper way to flock your Christmas tree. Use shaving cream, corn stretch, white glue, gloves, and essential oil (few drops). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add all ingredients into a bowl and add a few drops of essential oil to smell like Christmas. Then start flocking the tree with it by massaging the branches with your gloves on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it dry overnight and this concoction will look very similar to snow on your Christmas tree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could also spray paint your Christmas tree in white or silver to get the flocked look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forgot to mention a tree stand for your tree but, if you do not want it to get the flocking powder on top of it, you will need to cover it with a plastic bag or something. This is not necessary for a larger tree because you won’t see the tree stand anyways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
