A towel cake is a cake that is completely made of towels. It is a handmade craft that often resembles a wedding cake that is decorated with kitchen supplies and towels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A towel cake makes the perfect wedding shower gift because it is a bunch of useful kitchen items all wrapped up in a pretty style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A towel cake is a combination of dish towels, bath towels, and washcloths. You could use other materials like hand towels and decorations like ribbons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are several ways you could make a towel cake. The way we will approach this is by making two layers, but you could use three layers as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bottom layer, middle layer, and top layer. Each layer will be of different sizes and the final layer is going to be the decoratons and accents<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The materials that we are using for our towel cake are from Dollar Tree and Walmart, but you could find all of the materials mentioned on Amazon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Materials For Making a Bridal Shower Towel Cake<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The items used in this towel cake are <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 12 kitchen towels<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13 Dishcloths <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 oven mitt<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 potholders<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ribbon<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Piece Bamboo Kitchen toolset<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dish for the bottom of the cake<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided to go with a teal cake. We didn’t want to do a white cake because although they look really well for a towel cake design, they get really dirty really fast and no one wants discolored towels and wash clothes in their kitchen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step-by-Step Directions for Making a Towel Cake<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Step 1- Line up about 8 towels layer on top of eachother until you have a long rectangle. Keep the towel you want on the outer layer out of the pile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2- Roll the towels tightly until you have a thick roll. If it is not thick enough stuff more towels into the roll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3- Once your roll full to your liking, then secure it with a large rubber band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4- Then fold your outer towel in a rectangle a little larger than the previous ones you’ve made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 5- Wrap the outer layer aroud the inner rolls neatly and secure it with a large rubber band. Then place in the dish so it is secure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 6- Repeat this process with the next layer with less towels so that it is slightly smaller than the bottom layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 7- Attach decorative ribbon around the outer layers of the towel over the rubber bands of each layer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 8- Stick one of the wooden spoons down the middle of the two layers. you many ahave to manuver a little but once you have the spoon through both layers, it prevents the top layer from falling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 9- Decorate the cake with the other wooden spoons bu looping the pot holders through and placeing them along the side of the cake. You could accomplish this by sticking the other spoons in the bottom layer on each sides of the cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided to use flowers and ribbon, but if you want to use cake topper, that would look great on this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
